Critic’s Award-48th Filmfare Awards (2003)

48th Filmfare Awards 2003 – Highlights

  1. Film Devdas received the most awards in the 48th Filmfare Awards (2003). The film received seventeen (17) nominations and won eleven (11) of them.
    •  By receiving seventeen (17) nominations Devdas also became the most film this year.
  2. Film Humraaz received second-highest nominations. The film received twelve (12) nominations but could not win any awards.
    • Humraaz became the third film in the History of Filmfare Awards that could not win a single award even after receiving second-most nominations.
    • Trishul was the first film that could not receive any awards after receiving second-most nominations (6) in the 26th Filmfare Awards (1979).
    • Kaala Patthar became the second film in this category. The film also received second-highest nominations (8) in the 27th Filmfare Awards (1980) but failed to win any.
  3. Film Company received ten (10) nominations in the 48th Filmfare Awards (2003). The film won seven (7) of them.
  4. Film Saathiyan received seven (7) nominations and won six (6) of them.
  5. The Legend of Bhagat Singh won four (4). The film won Critic’s Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor.
  6.  Film Raaz received six (6) nominations but could not win any.
  7. No film personality could win Filmfare Special Award this year.
  8. Jeetendra and Rekha received Lifetime Achievement Awards in the 48th Filmfare Awards (2003).
