Film Junoon received the most awards in the 27th Filmfare Awards (1980). The film received nine (9) nominations and won six (6) out of them.
By receiving nine (9) nominations Junoon became the most nominated film too.
Film Gol Maal and Kaala Patthar received the second-most nominations (8 each). Gol Maal won three (3) awards. Whereas, Kaala Patthar did not win a single award.
Thus, Kaala Patthar became the second film in the history of Filmfare Awards that could not win a single award even after receiving second-most nominations.
Earlier Trishul became the first film that could not win a single award after having second-most nominations (6) in the 26th Filmfare Awards (1979).
Hrishikesh Mukherjee received two nominations in the category of Best Director. It was the first time when a film director received two nominations in a single year. However, he could not win either.
Film Sargam received seven (7) nominations. However, the film won only one (1) award. The film won for Best Music. Music duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal won the award.
Film Noorie received six (6) nominations. However, the film could not win a single award like Kaala Patthar.
Film Jurmana received four (4) nominations. However, the film did not win any awards.
Film Dada, Meera, and Amar Deep received three (3) nominations each. Dada won two awards. Meera won only one award whereas Amar Deep could not win any.
Lahu Ke Do Rang and Nauker received two (2) nominations each. Both films won one (1) award each.
