Critic’s Award-50th Filmfare Awards (2005) 50th Filmfare Awards 2005 – Highlights This year Filmfare Awards celebrated its Golden Jubilee.The Filmfare Trophy was converted into Gold to memorialize the Golden Jubilee moment. A special award named “Best Film of 50 Years” was announced. Ramesh Sippy received the award for the iconic film Sholay. Film Yuva received the most awards in the 50th Filmfare Awards (2005). The film received seven (7) nominations and won six (6) of them.Yuva received seven (7) nominations and won six (6) of them. Film Veer Zaara received fifteen (15) nominations and won four (4) of them.By receiving fifteen (15) nominations, Veer Zaara became the most nominated film of this year. Film Swades received eight (8) nominations and won only two of them.By receiving eight (8) nominations, Swades became the second-most nominated film of this year. Film Hum Tum also received seven (7) nominations and won five (5) of them. Film Khakee and Bhaghban also received four (4) nominations each.However, both films could not win any awards. Film Jism, Gangaajal, and Ishq Vishk received three (3) nominations each.These films won one award each too. Film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi also received three (3) nominations but failed to win any award. Film Dev received two (2) Filmfare nominations and won both of them. Film Aitraaz and Murder received two awards each. Both films won one award each. Filmfare Special Award was not awarded this year.Rajesh Khanna received Lifetime Achievement Award in the 50th Filmfare Awards (2005) Filmfare Best Debut (Male) was not awarded this year.Javed Akhtar made a record by received all five (5) nominations in the category of Best Lyricist .He won the award for the song Tere Liye Hum Hain Jeeyen from Veer-Zaara.
