62nd Filmfare Awards were held in Mumbai on 14 January 2017. Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, and comedian Kapil Sharma hosted the show. Kapil Sharma hosted the show for the third consecutive year whereas Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Sharma jointly hosted the show for the second consectuvieve year.

62nd Filmfare Awards 2017 – Highlights
- Film Udta Punjab received eleven (11) nominations and won three (3) of them.
- Shahid Kapoor won Filmfare Critics Best Actor Award for the film too. Thus, total nominations and wins come to twelve (12) and four (4) respectively.
- Film Neerja received the most awards in the 62nd Filmfare Awards (2017).
- Neerja received eight (8) nominations and won four (4) of them.
- Moreover, the film won Critics Best Film and Critics Best Actress Awards without any nominations. Thus, the total nominations and win come to ten (10) and six (6) respectively.
- Film Kapoor & Sons also received ten (10) nominations and won five (5) of them.
- By receiving ten (10) nominations, Kapoor & Sons became the most nominated film in the 62nd Filmfare Awards (2017).
- Film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil received nine (9) nominations. The film won four (4) awards too.
- Film Sultan received seven (7) nominations. However, the film won only one (1) of them.
- Neha Bhasin won the award in the category of Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer.
- She won the award for the song Jag Ghoomeya from Sultan.
