Critic’s Award-53rd Filmfare Awards (2008) 53rd Filmfare Awards 2008 – Highlights Film Chak De India and Guru received the most awards in the 53rd Filmfare Awards 2008. Both films received ten (10) nominations and won five (5) of them.Shah Rukh Khan won the Best Actor Award for the film Chak De India. He won his 7th Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category. Film Om Shanti Om also received ten (10) nominations but won only two awards.By receiving ten (10) nominations, Guru, Chak De India, and Om Shanti Om became the most nominated film of this year. Film Taare Zameen Par received nine (9) nominations and won four of them.Child Actor Darsheel Safary received two nominations for the film Taare Zameen Par. He received nominations in the categories of Best Actor and Best Debut (Male) . He could not win both. However, Darsheel but won Critiç’s Award for Best Actor. Film Saawariya received eight (8) nominations and won three of them. Film Jab We Met received seven (7) nominations and won three (3) of them. Madhuri Dixit received her 13th Filmfare Award nomination in the Best Actress category.She thus broke the record of 12 nominations held by Meena Kumari. Madhuri Dixit has already received fourteen (14) nominations in the category of Best Actress. She holds the record for maximum nominations in this category. Film Life in a Metro received six (6) nominations and won three (3) of them. Film Johnny Gaddaar received three (3) nominations and won only one (1) of them.Leslie Fernandes won the award for Best Sound Design. Film Parzania and Aaja Nachle received two (2) nominations each.However, both films did not win any awards.
