Best Documentary

Critic’s Awards for Best Documentary was introduced in the 15th Filmfare Awards (1968). Documentary Film “India ’67” won the first Critics Award.

15th Filmfare Awards 1968 – Highlights

  • Film Upkar received the most awards. The film received ten (10) nominations and won seven (7) of them.
    • By receiving ten (10) nominations Guide also received the most nominations in the 15th Filmfare Awards 1968. Upkar won the Best Film Award too.
  • Milan received the second-highest nominations.
    • The film received nine (9) nominations and won three (3) out of it.
  • Suraj received three (3) nominations and surprisingly won all of them.
  • Critic’s Awards for Best Documentary was introduced in the 15th Filmfare Awards (1968).
    • India ’67 became the first winner of this award.
  • The award for Best Female Singer was introduced in the 15th Filmfare Awards (1968).
    • Asha Bhosle received the first award for the song Garibon Ki Suno from Dus Lakh.
  • Manoj Kumar received four (4) nominations in four different categories.
    • These categories were Best Director, Best Actor, Best Story, and Best Dialogues.
  • Manoj Kumar won three (3) awards out of four (4) nominations.
    • He won for Best Director, Best Story, and Best Dialogues.
