Critic’s Awards for Best Documentary was introduced in the 15th Filmfare Awards (1968). Documentary Film “Explorer” won the Critics Award in 1969.
16th Filmfare Awards 1969 – Highlights Film Brahmachari received the most awards. The film received nine (9) nominations and won six (6) of them. By receiving nine (9) nominations Brahmachari also received the most nominations in the 16th Filmfare Awards 1969. Brahmachari won the Best Film Award too. Neel Kamal received the second-highest nominations. The film received eight (8) nominations and won only one (1) out of them. Ankhen received seven (7) nominations and won two (2) out of them. Shikar received five (5) nominations and won four (4) all of them. Majhli Didi, Saathi, and Saraswatichandra received two (2) nominations each.
