Film Beta and Deewana received the most awards in the 38th Filmfare Awards (1993).
Both Deewana and Beta won five (5) awards each. Both the films received nine (9) nominations.
Film Khuda Gawah also received nine (9) nominations.
By receiving nine (9) nominations Deewana, Beta, and Khuda Gawah became the most nominated film too.
Film Khuda Gawah the second-most awards. The film won four (4) awards out of nine (9) nominations.
Film Deewana and Beta received the most awards and most nominations in equal numbers. This happened for the first time in the history of Filmfare Awards after the nominations started.
Film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar received the second-most nominations. The film received eight (8) nominations. However, the film won only two awards.
Film Angaar received three (3) nominations and won all of them.
Film Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Muskurahat both received two (2) nominations and won one (1) each.
Dev Anand received the Lifetime Achievement Award. He became the second person to receive the award. Amitabh Bachchan became the first winner in the 36th Filmfare Awards (1991).
Shah Rukh Khan received the Best Debut Award for the film Deewana.
Divya Bharti received the Lux New Face of the Year Award for the film Deewana.
The Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer was introduced in the 6th Filmfare Awards (1959). Lata Mangeshkar received 19 nominations in 13 years from 1959 to 1971. Thereafter, she requested not to consider her name for a nomination. She did it to promote new talent. Thus, the Jury decided to give Filmfare Special Award for the song Didi Tera Dever Deewana from Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
Meenakshi Seshadri also received the Filmfare Special Award for contribution to the Hindi film industry.
