Film Amar Akbar Anthony received seven (7) nominations. Hum Kisise Kum Naheen also received seven (7) nominations. However, Swami received six (6) nominations.
By receiving seven (7) nominations Amar Akbar Anthony and Hum Kisise Kum Naheen became the most nominated films.
Film Swami and Kinara received six (6) nominations each. Swami won three (3) awards whereas Kinara won two (2) awards.
Film Doosra Aadmi received four (4) nominations but could not win any of them.
Film Mantan and Chala Murari Hero Banne received three (3) nominations each. Both films won one (1) award each. Manthan won for Best Female Singer for the song Mero Gaam Ka Tha. Preeti Sagar sang the song. Chala Murari Hero Banne won for Bests Comic Actor received by Paintal.
Film Choti Si Baat received six (6) nominations. However, the film won only one (1) award for Best Screenplay.
Dulhan Wohi Jo Piya Man Bhaye received two (2) nominations and won both of them.
Film Shaque and Anurodh received two (2) nominations each. However, none of the films could win either.
Rakhee received nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress for the same film Doosra Aadmi. This peculiar situation occurred for the third time in the history of Filmfare Awards.
