Film Deewar received the most awards. The film received nine (9) nominations and won seven (7) out of them.
By receiving nine (9) nominations Deewar also became the most nominated film in the 23rd Filmfare Awards (1976). However, Sholay and Amanush also received nine (9) nominations and became the most nominated films along with Deewar.
Two films Sanyasi and Aandhi received seven (7) nominations each. However, Aandhi won two (2) awards but Sanyasi could not win any award.
Film Julie received four (4) nominations. The film won three (3) awards out of these four (4) nominations.
Film Majboor received two (2) nominations. However, the film could win either.
Similarly, the film Dulhan received two (2) nominations. However, the film could win either.
Film Sholay is considered one of the most successful Hindi films. The film received nine (9). However, the film won only one (1) award for Best Editing.
Shashi Kapoor won his first Filmfare Award in the 23rd Filmfare Awards (1976). He won it in the category of Best Supporting Actor for the film Deewar. Thereafter, Shashi Kapoor could not win any Acting Filmfare Award. However, he received Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the 55th Filmfare Awards 2010.
