The Filmfare OTT Awards are one more segment of awards presented by Filmfare magazine. These awards are for the Hindi language original program aired on OTT (over-the-top). In short, these awards represent Excellence in cinematic achievements for OTT content.
These awards are a set of different awards like Best Series, Best Director (Series), Best Actor (Male & Female), etc. These awards include Critics’ Awards and Technical awards too.
The first Filmfare OTT Awards took place on 19 December 2020. It included Films and Web Series released directly on OTT (over-the-top) from 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2020.

The year 2020 changed the life cycle and lifestyle of people all around the world. The mode of entertainment took a dramatic turn due to the Corona epidemics.
The world went in lockdown, a never-before experience. The internet and television became the primary source of entertainment during the lockdown period. People were free, and the lockdown turned people to art. Digital content became part of the daily routine.
Here the OTT platforms emerge as the winner. New faces became celebrities overnight. People found OTT a comparatively affordable medium to watch cinema and a newly invented term Web Series, which became popular among youngsters.
The Creators also found the OTT platform a great way to showcase their artistic creativity without any Censorship. The uncensored content with good quality, easy accessibility, affordable costing, and entertainment for the whole family allured the audiences toward various OTT platforms.
The Gripping storylines, realistic scenarios, well-mounted products, and magnificent acting performances brought the attention of Filmfare Magazine, and the first-ever OTT Awards came into existence in 2020, sponsored by Flyx. Filmfare introduced a new set of award categories, which solely dedicated to the Hindi OTT contents.
After the success of the 1st Filmfare OTT Awards, there comes the 2nd OTT Filmfare Awards-2021.
For the 1st Filmfare OTT Awards 2020, the time frame was 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2020. For the 2nd OTT Awards (2021), the time frame was 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021.
Filmfare received entries across 21 categories from various OTT platforms and producer houses during the participation phase. The audiences can vote on Filfmare.Com and MyGlamm App (the Sponsor) for these 21 categories.
There would be 34 categories of awards including, Critics’ Awards and Techincal Awards.
