The Zee Cine Awards (ZCA) is one of the prestigious Film Awards for the Indian film industry. It is a set of awards presented annually to encourage and honor film artists for their outstanding work.
The Zee Cine Award was instituted in November 1997 to award “Excellence in cinema – the democratic way”. Mumbai City became the first Host of the newly established Award. The 1st Zee Cine Awards held on 14 March 1998 in Mumbai. The ceremony of 18th Zee Cine Awards-2018 (Why 2018?) was held in Mumbai on 19 December 2017.
18th Zee Cine Awards is also known as Fair & Lovely Zee Cine Awards or Zee Cine Awards 2018.

Highlights
- 18th Zee Cine Awards were held on 19 December 2017 in Mumbai, India. Therefore, it should be known as Zee Cine Awards 2017. However, the 18th Zee Cine Awards is popularly known as Zee Cine Awards 2018. So why it is popularly known as Zee Cine Awards 2018 instead of 2017.
- The 16th Zee Cine Awards were held on 20 February 2016, and the 17th Zee Cine Awards were held on 11 March 2017. After that, the 18th Zee Cine Awards were held on 19 December 2017. Thus, the 17th and 18th Awards Ceremonies of Zee Cine Awards occurred in the same year.
- The 16th Zee Cine Awards 2016 are popularly known as ZEE CINE AWARDS 2016. Similarly, the 17th Zee Cine Awards are popularly known as ZEE CINE AWARDS 2017.
- Hence, to avoid confusion, the 18th Zee Cine Awards, held on 19 December 2017, are popularly known as ZEE CINE AWARDS 2018.
- There were no separate awards for Best Story, Best Screenplay, and Best Dialogue. A single award named Best Writing was given. Nitesh Tiwari and Shreyas Jain won the same for Bareilly Ki Barfi.
- Similarly, no separate awards were given for Best Best Editing and Best Visual Effect. Instead, a single award named Best Post Production was given. Ajay Sharma and NyVFXWala won the Award for Jagga Jasoos.
