The Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography is a part of the annual Filmfare Awards. These awards are presented by the Filmfare Magazine (Times Group).
The First Filmfare Awards were held on 21 March 1954 in Bombay (now Mumbai). However, the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography was introduced in the 2nd Filmfare Awards (1955) .
Taru Dutt became the first winner of this award. Avik Mukhopadhyay won the award in the 66th Filmfare Awards (2021) .
