• Film Mughal-E-Azam received ten (10) nominations.
  • By receiving ten (10) nominations, Mughal-E-Azam became the Most Nominated Film in the 8th Filmfare Awards (1961).
  • Mughal-E-Azam won three (3) Filmfare Awards. Here is the list of winners:
    1. Best Film
    2. Kamal Amrohi – Best Dialogue
    3. R. D. Mathur – Best Cinematographer
• Film Chaudhvin Ka Chand received six (6) nominations and won three of them. Here is the list of winners:
  1. Shakeel Badayuni – Best Lyricist
  2. Mohammed Rafi – Best Male Playback Singer
  3. Biren Nag – Best Art Direction (B&W)
• Film Parkh received five (5) nominations and won three awards too.
